ABOUT US
The Youth Survivors Foundation was incorporated in the state of Florida on July 27, 2004, by Shaheewa T. Jarrett, Esq., to (1) ensure competent legal representation for youth from historically disadvantaged racial groups, (2) aid in the realization of the 1954 Supreme Court decision in Brown vs. Board of Education by providing educational and financial support to historically disadvantaged racial groups, and (3) preserve and ensure the healthy survival of youth from disadvantaged racial groups by teaching life skills and promoting cultural awareness. Children involved in the juvenile delinquency, special education, and family court proceedings typically have been abused, neglected, and abandoned on some level. The common denominator for children in these different systems is the lack of hope and a feeling of helplessness.
The focus of the Youth Survivors Foundation Incorporated is to rejuvenate the young by providing then with services that will introduce them to all of their possibilities, expose then to all of life’s rewards, and teach them to utilize all resources thereby securing success. It may not be an easy task but it can be accomplished. Please join me in preparing our youth for our future.
