Meet The Team

Kyle 

Co-Founder Proof School Lead Kyle is an 8th grader at Proof School, and is a founder of the Youth Sustainable Fashion Initiative. He strives to address the climate crisis with community engagement, education, and technological advancement. He also serves as on the leadership team for Super Plants which serves to educate Bay Area youth on biodiversity and promote CO2 reduction through the promotion of plants which capture and store CO2. In his free time, he enjoys gardening at the O'Donohue Family Stanford Educational Farm, practicing sustainable agriculture.

Katelyn 

Co-Founder Castilleja School Lead Katelyn Wan is a 7th grader at Castilleja School and a founder of the Youth Sustanable Fashion Initiative. She got interested in sustainable fashion while working on speech for a summer camp. As an avid shopper, she soon discovered the true cost of her clothing. She learned that the fashion industry is responsible for 10 % of annual global carbon emissions, and is only worsening. She learned that many clothes in her closet will take hundreds of years to decompose. She started YSFI with her brother to help do her part to make a difference. In her free time, she enjoys digital art, crafting, and writing

Athena

Team Writer Athena Li is a 7th grader at Woodside Priory. She loves the environment and wants to help make the planet more sustainable. She learned all about the harms of non-sustainable items from reading books about the planet. She also wants to help fight climate change. In her free time she enjoys playing piano, being with her guinea pigs, and reading.

Stella

Team Writer Stella is a 7th grader at Crystal Springs. She loves to dance and is interested in the idea of sustainable fashion. She is a team writer and helps post articles about fast fashion and sustainability.
